Creation of school books should be paid by the government. They should be put under cc license, that allows copying with attribution,

Books should be posted on the internet, where anybody can download and print them.
Or /and put them on http://www.wikibooks.org/ (like) page, where registered users could update them, and fix errors.
There would be less errors, and you could integrate audio and video recordings to the page, and links to wikipedia, for more info.
